Someone once told me that anti-dandruff shampoo was the best way to get rid of a semi permanant hair dye, but I've never tried this.

Otherwise, there are some colour removers available on the market - if you're in Australia, I seem to remember Priceline selling something like this. It works on every colour hair dye except blonde, so should work on getting rid of the green from your hair!

Also, if you've been swimming in chlorinated water, this may be what's turned the colour green.

You remember Annie Lennox, the lead singer of the Eurythmics? Do likewise to your hair, dear. It's the only way.

Use a clarifying shampoo and wash with very hot water. you will have to do it a few times but slowly but surely it will come out. If your hair is GREEN you need to use a purple based shampoo.

Go to a professional stylist. Don't try to do it yourself anymore!

Back when I was in Cosmetology, our teacher told us to use Wisk laundry detergent to get rid of unwanted haircolor. Not sure if it would work in your case though. She did say it would strip the color out though.

Get a good chelating or stripping shampoo:

1. Joico's chelating shampoo Reslove...this may be hard to find since their switch to new bottles and names doesn't include the Resolve product.

2. One%26amp;only's Colorfix to remove permanent colour.

3. Clairol's uncolor shampoo for semi-permenent colour removal.

Most of these types of shampoos should only be used once a week. If you plan to use more often, I recommend a good moisturizing conditioner (like something from Joico's moisture recovery line or Aveda's Damage Repair Restructuring condtioner).

But...don't think that the shampoo will get rid of all the colour. Unfortunately some will remain.

I'm with on not wanting to bleach your hair. It will damage it. But don't write off colouring your hair again. It will repair it. Just go with a natural colour (in the dark blonde range...just stay away from ashes as they will make your hair appear greener).

Or something else you may want to try is alternating the stripping shampoo with a colour conditioner:

1. Aveda's Camomile Color conditioner. Adds golden tones to hair.

2. Aveda's Clove Color conditioner. Geared to medium brown hair, but could work for you.

3. John Frieda's Sheer Blonde line. You could find finishing products or a conditioner that will help you bring out the blonde.
