I need it to be blue!?

My hair is very resistant to dyes but I am set on having one or two blue streaks. Suggestions? What is the best way to turn dark hair blue?

if you pre lighten it with bleach...leave it on so it gets a few shades lighter or possible bleach blonde condition it and a few hours later put the blue on that way it shouldnt do anything else...im ahairdresser and thats what i do for my clients...make sure it isnt very yellow blonde because it could possibly turn green...my email is lildq721@Yahoo.com if u have more questions

You need to bleach it first then use a fudge or punky colour.

Keep dying the streaks with POWERFUL dye...... lik wat they hav at the salons........... and if that doesn't work....... get a few blue extensions put into ur hair........ it will look lik ur real hair......... it will look lik u hav blue streaks...... and they are unexpensive......... u can get extensions at Sally Beauty Supply.......... but idk about blue ones!!!

you should bleach your hair first then use the dye. im asian i dont have black hair tho but i have a very very dark brown natural hair colour *foxy brown*. are you planning to have permanent blue streaks? i used Wella one night temporary dark blue streak dye and it worked REALLY well!! but its only for a short time and washes out easily =/

you need to bleach a small "test" strip portion of your hair...for like 5 minutes...just enough to lighten it up and if you go to a sallys beauty salon they have bright blue dye....leave that on for some time and it should look great...i do peoples hair all the time...just dont let the bleach stay on too long because if you do then the yellow and blue will make your highlights green!! Okay so everyone is telling you about the dyes for blue which is great I love punky colour and raw their thick as of manic panic is more watery but still works well.

You are going to have to bleach which will thing your hair a bit.

Use Developer #30 with the powder and If you say you have dark hair chances are high that you may need 2 or 3 maybe even four sessions of bleaching you can do one in the morning and rinse then do it again at night.

Your probably going to add it on at first and it will strart turning brown with some orange in it then orange blonde then a kind of bright yellow but dont' stop there NOTE; Yellow and Blue makes green sooo your gonna have to go platinum blonde to achieve the nice blue oh and buy this thing called Virgin Snow google it it's a solution that strips the yellow to have that true color.
